╬ HAPPY HALLOWEEN! ╬
The best time of the year is here again! And it's HALLOWEEN! Are you excited as much as we are?! It's definitely the day for young spirits to go all out with different looks, costumes and have fun. Since this is an American "holiday", only teenagers celebrate it, because traditionally, in Slovakia Halloween is called "Dušičky" and people visit the graveyard to light a candle for those who aren't with us anymore...
Okay.. Now back to the fun part! Do you like Halloween? How do you celebrate it? Do you prefer the cute or the creepy type of it?
As for me, I usually do the creepy one, so that's probably why I decided to do something cute this year! Do you like it? :P

ReplyDeleteHere in Catalonia we celebrate “La Castanyada”. It consist of eat chestnuts ("castanyes"), a kind of bun called "panellet", sweet potato and preserved fruits, typically with moscatel to drink. The festival is usually depicted with the figure of a castanyera: an old lady, dressed in peasant's clothing and wearing a headscarf, sat behind a table, roasting chestnuts for street sale.
However, Halloween is pretty common too, nowadays we celebrate both celebrations.
To sum it up, I think that festivals become popular because people enjoy them, so why not celebrate our own customs and the new ones, and have twice as much fun?
